Summary: This project proposes a dissertation writing anchored in the relationship
between contemporary literature and the representation of female same-sex
affection. The aim is to reflect on the portrayal of lesbians in Brazilian literary
universe, highlighting the power that aesthetic perspective holds in shaping a
vision of these women. We will also seek to recognize the position that the
stories "Minha prima está na cidade", “As tias”, "Flor, flores, ferro retorcido" ,
and "Marília acorda" by Natália Polesso assume regarding women's
homosexuality, considering that the conception of it is socially and historically
constructed.

Keywords: lesbian literature, queer theory, lesbian protagonism, short
stories, Natália Polesso.
