Summary: The main objective of this work is to analyze characteristics of black-brazilian culture from the book Maréia (2019), by the black writer Miriam Aparecida Alves. In order to arrive at such an analysis, it was necessary to trace a brief history of the formulation of feminism until it reached black feminism, based on the mid-twentieth century. Subsequently, it is necessary to present the concept of intersectionality, which is presented in order to give space to discussions about structural racism that is consequently transferred and dispersed by the Cultural Industry and its contributions to perpetuating the influence of patriarchy. Several theorists were used, which were extremely important to conceptualize the narrative, such as: bell hooks, Djamila Ribeiro, Michele Schiffler, Heleieth Saffioti, Silvia Federici, Silvio Almeida, Fábio Leite, Homi Bhabha, among others. As a source of information about the writer Miriam Alves, it was necessary to have access to interviews, books and websites that show information about her. Newspapers and Brazilian government websites were also used to support information disclosed during the text.
